Welcome to my 'dreamclouds' blog. I am so excited to get to this stage and it has been a long time dreaming and planning. It is too easy to let life get ahead of you and to put your dreams off. Use your dreams as a focal point because that is where you will find happiness.

This last 15 years I have been focusing on my family whilst continuing to work and develop ideas behind the scenes. I love working with kids - big and small - and helping people develop their skills and express themselves creatively. So I have developed my new website around what makes me happy and I hope that others can share this happiness.

Where does this all come from? Over the years I have written ideas in my notebooks, collected samples, favourite products and tools and tested ideas on friends. You see I love making unique things for friends and family, making people smile, making people happy. I take after my Mum - nicknamed Cloudy - who has been a huge influence in my life, even after I lost her 20 years ago. She looks down on me from up in the clouds. This is where I got my foundation business name - the clouds above.

I am from New Zealand and the Kiwi culture in ingrained in most things I do and I especially try to share this with my Kiwi-Brit children. So another arm of my business is called 'the clouds downunder'.

Then I developed 'mydreamclouds' as a brand for the bespoke items I was making and selling. It was during 'lockdown' that I had a real vision of what I wanted to do. Everything started falling in place - I found the funding for the the foundation of my business in working with Monat. This business helped me build my confidence and some financial independence again. I enjoyed the 'slower pace of life' - not taxiing the children around constantly and reducing my volunteer commitments - to give me the space to think and assess.

So here we are, in 2020, a time when we're all wondering what's going to happen next and I'm holding onto my dreams and hope that other people can look beyond the madness and not lose sight of their dreams too x
